Honeywell Unveils New Power Unit For Business Jets
The Micro Power Unit will serve a diverse range of turboprop, and small to midsize jet engine aircraft, as well as advanced military ground vehicles. The solution was developed to provide on-the-ground power for these vehicles without the need to run the main engines or use a ground cart. Honeywell’s Micro Power Unit, or mPU, allows owners and operators of aircraft to provide power autonomously in any ground environment. This decreases fuel burn while increasing overall aircraft efficiency. The mPU is able to provide power to small commercial aircraft which are not equipped with an APU to operate a small vapor cycle ECS, and avionics systems without running a main engine, ground cart, or electrical cord.
